Refundable security money held by the landlord.

The 보증금 (bojeungeum) is a refundable security deposit the landlord holds for the duration of your lease. It protects the landlord against unpaid rent or damage and is returned when you leave. Always sign a contract and, if possible, register your lease so your deposit is legally protected.
